Oberon Community Technology Centre

The centre is clean, comfortable and welcoming, with tea making facilities, and staff and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds and circles. We have disabled access to all rooms, plus toilet facilities for the disabled. The CTC is part of the Oberon Information Centre.
The resources of the Oberon Information Centre are as follows:
- The training room has 10 networked computers with Windows Vista and a wide range of software applications. The training room has been used by Central West Community College, Oberon Council, OPTA and many more to conduct courses. The CTC volunteers have also run courses on Digital Photography, Basic Computers and many 1-1 tutorial sessions.
- The conference room is designed to take up to 20 people comfortably. It has a TV and VCR/CD player. There is also internet access. The conference rooms as been used by groups such as Tumut TAFE, Highland Pine, Blue Mountains Tourism Association, National Parks and Wildlife, Woodchem and Western Research Institute
- There is a meeting rooms, all with internet access. One houses a web cam. These meeting rooms are regularly used by Bathurst Employment, Central West Recruitment, and Bathurst Enterprise Centre to see their clients. The rooms have also been used on occasions by various community members to hold meetings, conduct interviews etc.
- High Speed Internet Access which is used by the local community and visitors to Oberon
- Tea and coffee making facilities and we can arrange for catered lunches
- Whiteboard, data projector and screen, overhead projector, photocopier, laser printers, colour laser printer, scanners.
CTC@Oberon runs a large range of learning programs, including non-accredited courses (Computers for Beginners, Using a Digital Still Camera and digital editing software, eBay, Internet Basics, Linux, Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, File Management and Security. We can arrange accredited courses through an accredited trainer, self-paced training, and one-on-one mentoring by volunteers and staff. We also conduct a full week of activities during Seniors Week.
CTC@Oberon is managed by a local management committee (in conjunction with The Oberon Council) and runs Genealogy Club (meets every Monday afternoon), PC Club for Beginners (meets every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons). The centre is used by the local community for various meetings. The local businesses use the centre to run courses for their staff.
