“I would like a computer that has all the bells and whistles!”

This is a statement many people make when they are considering buying a new computer. But, what type of money are we really talking about? Well, it all depends upon what they would like to accomplish now and what they hope to accomplish in the future.

Here are our conservative suggestions: a good business computer should be between $900 and $1,299, a good hobbyist’s computer around $1,599 plus, and for an enthusiast or gamer this can be anything from $1,999 to well over $3,000.

The remarkable thing today is no matter which category of computer you buy, it will come with a good quality LCD monitor.

However, make sure your new computer comes with all the software you require i.e. security and productivity software like Microsoft Office. Purchasing software as part of a new computer system is the most cost-effective way to buy software, but make sure it’s the full working version, not trialware.
